The Neuburg-Schrobenhausen region in the north of Upper Bavaria invites you to discover, explore, experience and enjoy: the old royal seat of Neuburg on the Danube, with its castle widely visible in the historical old town, or Schrobenhausen, the Lenbach town in asparagus country with its green town walls. Both towns offer diverse art, culture and history but also festivals and events as well.
Numerous cycle and hiking paths run through the region. They lead through the original Danube valley with its bizarre rock formations, through the riparian forests along the Danube, through the wide flat Danube moor, the largest fen in southern Germany or the picturesque Paar valley including flora and fauna.
Local culinary delights are the Schrobenhausener asparagus and potatoes when they’re in season. Delicious and refined, they’re prepared in lots of different ways and can be found on all the menus in the region.
