The municipality stretches around 60 kilometers south of Munich in the idyllic Isarwinkel. Imposing mountain peaks such as the Brauneck (1556 m) surround one of the largest municipalities in Germany in terms of area, through which the wild Isar meanders and gives the region its unmistakable landscape.
