Teens also get their money's worth here with snowboarding and freestyling - no wonder that even top athletes train at Götschen.

Guaranteed snow & great views: family adventures on the Rossfeld

Those who like it natural and with great views can make their tracks in Rossfeld. The snow-sure family ski area offers four lifts, natural snow and an extra-long valley run - perfect for beginners and advanced skiers. And best of all: the view over the snow-covered peaks is simply unbeatable.

Cozy & family-friendly: Winter happiness on the Hochschwarzeck

The Hochschwarzeck in Ramsau is cozy and family-friendly. The manageable area is ideal for children who are still getting to grips with the slopes - with chairlift comfort, winter hiking trails and direct access to the popular Hirscheckblitz toboggan run. By the way, you can hire a sledge directly at the valley station - off you go!

Twice the fun: The Zinkenlifte Bad Dürrnberg

Unlimited fun in the snow can be found at the Zinkenlifte Bad Dürrnberg, just a few minutes from Berchtesgaden . The small, fine ski area just outside Salzburg offers nine kilometers of pistes, family-friendly prices and modern snow-making facilities - and twice as much fun on the slopes with the combined ticket for the Zinken and Rossfeld.

Little stars of the slopes make it big: Gutshof Obersalzberg

Gutshof Obersalzberg is just right for little ski stars. Four T-bar lifts, a children's lift and around two kilometers of slopes ensure stress-free learning and lots of fun in the snow. Thanks to floodlights, snow-making facilities and a cozy hut at the valley station, everything here is geared towards carefree winter days with the family.

At Brauneck, you can experience the region as it could hardly be more beautiful: snow-covered peaks, rustic huts and a ski area that scores with versatility. From easy and intermediate runs to sporty World Cup runs - every member of the family will find their favorite line here.

The Brauneck is a real paradise for kids: Three lovingly designed children's areas ensure that little ski stars learn their first turns in a playful way - from the Villa Lustig children's ski circus to the KinderSchneeLand on the Draxlhang and Michi Gerg's ski school right at the valley station.

Spitzingsee: Two valleys, one winter dream

Around the picturesque Spitzingsee lies a picture-book ski area, nestled between the peaks of Stümpfling and Roßkopf. With the Stümpfling or Suttenbahn cable cars, you'll be right in the middle of a snow adventure in no time at all.

The slopes are pleasantly manageable, perfectly groomed and ideal for families who want to take it easy. And best of all: thanks to the train and ski bus, you can even get to the ski resort from Munich in an environmentally friendly way - without the stress of parking.

Sudelfeld: Eldorado for families

Only around 80 kilometers south of Munich is the Sudelfeld, one of the largest connected ski areas in Germany and a real Eldorado for families. This is where wide pistes meet rustic huts, guaranteed snow meets pure joie de vivre.

The modern infrastructure makes it easy: 6-seater and 8-seater chairlifts take you comfortably to the top, while the ski rental, depot and ski school downstairs have everything you need. For the kids , there's the SNUKI-Kinderland and the Tannerfeld winter adventure park - places where little beginners become big snow heroes.

Wallberg: Tobogganing with a view

If you fancy something other than action on the slopes, grab a toboggan and head to the Wallberg! The 6.5-kilometre natural toboggan run is one of the longest in Germany - and certainly one of the most beautiful. Glide through snow-covered forests and down white slopes into the valley while the mountain wind blows in your face. An unforgettable winter experience for young and old. (It's best to skip the ride if you have small children, as the run is quite a challenge).

More winter. More family.

There's so much more waiting around the Alpen Plus areas: whether it's ice skating, experiencing animals or relaxing together in the thermal spa - here you'll find everything that makes winter your favorite time of year:

After a day in the snow, it's time to dive in, recharge your batteries and feel good. The Isarwelle family pool in Lenggries offers fun for everyone - with a lazy river, whirlpools and toddler area.

Things get a little more luxurious at the Kristall Therme trimini Kochel am See: here you can enjoy wellness with mountain views and healing water pools while the kids romp in the vitality pool or try out the 80-metre-long Karwendelblitz slide.

And if you fancy relaxing in style, treat yourself to a Family Day Spa at the Familotel Bayrischzell with sauna, pool and lots of well-being.

In Tölzer Land, the toboggan becomes your favorite vehicle! Three toboggan runs with different levels of difficulty await you on the Blomberg - from "very easy" to "medium". Perfect for families with small children, beginners or experienced tobogganers. On Saturdays, it even goes on in the evening: from 7 to 10 pm under floodlights.

There are also groomed toboggan runs around the Milchhäusl and the Reiseralm on the Brauneck for fun on two runners. If you like, try "uphill tobogganing" with a lift and safety toboggan - a real experience.

Experience snow together in Chiemgau

Winter is also at its best in Chiemgau: gentle slopes, fair prices and plenty of space for families. Here, the day's skiing is relaxed, the atmosphere warm - and the experience as genuine as the snow.

Family-friendly ski areas, perfectly groomed pistes, modern lifts and cozy alpine huts with panoramic views await you here. Families and pleasure skiers will find exactly what they are looking for here.

Snow, sun, gentle slopes: Steinplatte Winklmoosalm

In the border triangle of Tyrol, Salzburg and Bavaria lies what is probably the most versatile family ski area in the region: the Steinplatte Winklmoosalm. There are 42 sunny kilometers of pistes with wide, easy slopes for all abilities.

While parents enjoy the view, children can let off steam on the Triassic Funline with dinosaur elements or visit the childcare facilities in the Triassic Park. For the little ones, there's the free Kinderland in Waidring, while freestylers can carve their lines in the 1.5-kilometer-long Snowpark Steinplatte. And if you just want to enjoy the winter, discover the panorama shell, the stalactite cave or the panoramic view over the snow-covered Alps on a winter hike.

Family fun with a view: Westernberg Ruhpolding

Snow fans of all ages get their money's worth on the Westernberg in Ruhpolding. Between the beginning of December and mid-March, perfectly groomed slopes invite you to enjoy the slopes - whether your offspring are making their first turns or already carving confidently down the slopes.

The Ruhpolding ski school offers courses for children and adults as well as a ski kindergarten where the little ones can learn through play and discover the fun of snow. If you don't have your own equipment, you can hire it directly on site. And the devil's slope and the small fun park await the brave ones - adrenaline included, but still suitable for families.

Up high and take a deep breath: skiing on the Hochfelln

The Hochfelln towers majestically over the climatic health resort of Bergen - a real panoramic highlight at 1,674 meters above sea level. From the viewing terrace, you can see over 200 peaks of the Central Alps, Lake Chiemsee and the vast Alpine foothills.

The Hochfelln cable car takes you comfortably up to the summit in two stages, where the Hochfellnhaus invites you to stop for a bite to eat. If you like, you can combine a day's skiing with a walk along the geological nature trail or visit the small Tabor chapel. The Bründlingalm and the Bachschmiedkaser at the middle station are also popular refreshment stops for families who want to round off the day in style.

Small, fine, familiar: Kesselalm

The Kessel lifts in Inzell are a real insider tip for families. Everything here is manageable, friendly and sunny. From the flat rope lift for beginners to the sportier descent on the platter lift, there is the right terrain for every ability.

A special highlight is the floodlit skiing every Friday evening (weather permitting) - perfect if you just don't want the day's skiing to end.

Fun is also guaranteed off-piste: When snow tubing, you whizz through the snow channel on tires and are then comfortably transported back to the top on the magic carpet. Afterwards, the cozy Kesselalm awaits with delicious delicacies and a magnificent view over the valley.

Family time away from the slopes

Around the ski resorts, too, winter becomes a playground of snow. Little adventures await at every turn - from toboggan hills to children's trails. Perfect for families who love variety and enjoy being outdoors as much as a warm stop-off afterwards:

Whether short, long, easy or fast - in Chiemgau you will find toboggan runs for all ages and abilities. The hills in the cross-country stadium or on the Winklmoos-Alm are very relaxed, while the Hemmersuppenalm promises a bit of adventure with its moderately difficult route.

And if you like it sporty, take the 4-kilometre natural toboggan run from the Hindenburghütte to Blindau - it is one of the most beautiful in the whole of Chiemgau. The ascent may take a while, but the descent makes up for it with speed, curves and views.

Tip: Snowtubing on the Benzeck

And action! On the Benzeck, you glide through the snow channel on large tires, feel the wind in your face and land in the valley with a big grin on your face. Thanks to the lift, it's then easy to get back up again - for the next round of fun. An experience that will thrill young and old alike, whether as a warm-up or as the highlight of a long winter's day.

more winter activities

Reit im Winkl shows that cross-country skiing can also be great fun for children: The Bären trail is a circular trail specially developed for kids, around 300 meters long, with adapted track width and a child-friendly course.

Here, children aged four to eight learn to glide on two narrow boards in a playful way, accompanied by professionals from the local sports stores. The shorter track makes it possible for little legs to keep moving - without frustration, but with a lot of pride when the first lap is completed.

In the Triassic Park on the Steinplatte Waidring, you can immerse yourself in a fascinating prehistoric world - between ice and dinosaurs, snowflakes and fossils.

While the grown-ups whizz down the slopes or stroll along the winter hiking trail to the viewing platform, the little ones can let off steam in the Triassic children's area or do arts and crafts in the childcare area.

A special highlight: the Mom's Lounge, where parents can take a breather while the mascot Triassi puts a smile on the kids' faces. A truly "rustic" family experience that you won't forget in a hurry.
