Franz Marc Museum

Located above Lake Kochelsee, the museum offers a unique opportunity to experience the art of Franz Marc and the "Blue Rider" in the landscape that inspired the artists. The museum is surrounded by a small park with a few selected sculptures that invite visitors to stroll between nature and art. The museum's collection, which originally focused on works by Franz Marc and the "Blaue Reiter", was expanded with the opening of the new building in 2008 to include "Brücke" expressionism and German post-war abstraction.

Loisach-Kochelsee moor

Numerous beautiful and flat hiking trails lead through the Kochler Moor landscape between Loisach and Kochelsee, which was formed in the Würm Ice Age more than 15,000 years ago. And these areas have been used for agriculture for more than 1000 years. The flower-rich litter meadows in the area of the fen were created. At the same time, the extensive wetlands are a habitat for a large number of plant and animal species that are threatened with extinction.
