Lenggries - the mountain paradise

The municipality stretches around 60 kilometers south of Munich in the idyllic Isarwinkel. Imposing mountain peaks such as the Brauneck (1556 m) surround one of the largest municipalities in Germany in terms of area, through which the wild Isar meanders and gives the region its unmistakable landscape. The local history museum gives visitors an insight into the customs, crafts, agriculture and alpine farming in Lenggries and provides information about the rafting industry, for which the community was known in the past and is still known today. It is not for nothing that Lenggries bears the name "international rafting village".

On cross-country skis through Lenggries

Between pleasure and challenge: the cross-country ski trails in and around Lenggries score points with beginners and experts with a wealth of variety in the midst of secluded nature. Cross-country skiing fans will appreciate the trails in Lenggries and the surrounding area. Experience perfectly groomed trails for the sporty skier with skating technique and diagonal running style. In addition to 42 km of groomed trails in the village area and a total of 112 km of trails in the surrounding area, there is also an approximately 1.5 km long night trail with floodlights north of the Brauneckbergbahn valley station up to the Gilgenhöfe.
