The tourist resort of Schliersee is located directly on the lake of the same name amidst a picturesque mountain backdrop in the Mangfallgebirge mountains. The town can look back on a long tradition of tourism and can be described as the cradle of summer mountain and ski tourism. Not far from Schliersee are excursion destinations such as the Slyrs distillery, the Markus Wasmeier open-air museum and the cable car to the Schliersbergalm.
