CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING CENTER ASCHAUERWEIHEN IN BERCHTESGADENER LAND

The people of Berchtesgaden love it, and the neighbors from Salzburg also love coming to the Aschauerweiher. The cross-country skiing center on the hilly meadows between Berchtesgaden and Bischofswiesen not only offers a varied network of trails with a total of 24 kilometers. It is a small winter sports center with a cross-country skiing school and ski hire, changing rooms and showers and a frozen natural pond for ice skating and curling. Winter sports in classic Upper Bavarian style. To get in the mood, we recommend a first trip to the Dietfeld circuit on the opposite side of the parking lot. The fairly easy trail, which is groomed in classic style and for skaters, makes wide bends and loops on the open terrain and offers wonderful views of the Hoher Göll and the Watzmann along the way. A picture-book setting above Berchtesgaden. The loop is between 2.6 and 5.0 kilometers long. If you feel more confident, you can switch to the black Reitlehen trail to the left of the parking lot, which winds its way around the hamlets of Unterreit and Oberrreit to the southwest of the cross-country skiing center and does so on the hilly terrain with several ascents and descents. There are also some easier trails north of the Aschauerweiher pond.

Snow-covered trails and floodlights

The cross-country skiing center offers many different options, and there is also a snowmaking system for the trails. And for those who like to ski in the evening, that's also possible. Every day between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m., floodlit skiing is offered on part of the trails. With this varied offer, you can spend many hours cross-country skiing at Aschauerweiher. Families or groups with different requirements do not have to make any compromises here. After the cross-country ski run, you can enjoy a snack at the Aschauerwirt right in the center. Another alternative would be a trip down to the market square at Berchtesgaden to Gasthaus Neuhaus on the market square.

The Toni Müller cross-country skiing school right by the Aschauerweiher pond offers professional group courses, individual lessons in classic and skating style, as well as equipment rental and ski service. The cross-country skiing school is open daily from 10.00 to 16.00.
