SPITZINGSEE: Action by day & night 

When darkness falls over the peaks, a very special adventure begins at Spitzingsee: night skiing under floodlights. As you float up on the chairlift, stars twinkle above you - and perfectly illuminated slopes await you below. The snow sounds harder, the turns are more intense, the flow is unique.

Fun & flow for adrenaline junkies 

Wave tracks, steep turns, jumps - the fun factor is what counts in the Funslope on the eastern slope. Whether on skis or a board, it's all about rhythm, speed and the perfect moment in the air. Want even more airtime? Then check out the fun park on the north slope with kickers, rails and boxes. Ideal for trying out new tricks and meeting like-minded people.

Freeriding & touring on the Taubenstein 

The Taubenstein is an Eldorado for ski tourers and deep snow fans. Here, untouched terrain awaits instead of groomed slopes. Those who climb up should bring experience, equipment and personal responsibility - and will be rewarded with fantastic panoramic views and a well-earned snack in the Taubenstein summit restaurant.

Of course, the Spitzingsee ski area also offers plenty of variety during the day: from freeride tours and small contests in the Funslope to cozy refreshment stops with a view of the lake. Party afterwards at the Spinnradl.

SUDELFELD: Classic with top rating 

Action or a view? Both! Practice new tricks in the Sudelfeld Action World, glide down the wide panoramic slopes or treat yourself to a cozy stop at a hut with a view of the Wendelstein after your sport. There are also the best conditions here for anyone who values perfectly groomed slopes, smooth runs and real winter enjoyment. The Sudelfeld ski paradise has won several awards: the Skiareatest Germany, the Pistenfahrer Trophy and the International Piste Seal of Quality.

Happiness on the slopes without a car? You can! The Bayerische Regiobahn takes you directly from Munich to Bayrischzell every hour. From there, the free ski bus takes you to the valley station - stress-free, sustainable and with the MVV Sudelfeld ski pass, it even includes a ski pass.

Powdering by moonlight 

One evening, two boards, pure winter bliss: every Wednesday between 18:00 and 22:00, the Sudelfeld belongs to ski tourers. Ascent routes in the moonlight, silence instead of hustle and bustle - and at the end a well-deserved stop at the Walleralm, Speck-Alm or Sonnenalm. If you prefer a more leisurely pace, simply stay longer at the top.

WALLBERG - Freeride & tobogganing with a view 

There are no lifts here, no groomed slopes - just you, your board or skis and the pure terrain. The legendary ski route across the Erlen and Glaslhang slopes is steep, challenging and not for beginners. Those who master it feel what freedom in the snow means: untamed, intense and unforgettable. 

No après-ski awaits at the summit, but a VS check station where you can test your equipment. Because real freeriders know: Only with brains and complete emergency equipment can risk be turned into a real experience. The Wallberg rewards you with untouched powder and spectacular views as far as the Karwendel.

Speed meets panoramic views 

6.5 kilometers of natural toboggan run, around 30 minutes downhill, a permanent grin guaranteed: The Wallberg toboggan run is one of the longest and sportiest in Germany. It takes you through snow-covered forests and down white slopes into the valley - a mix of speed, panoramic views and pure winter magic.

Sporty or playful? Both! On the toboggan runs on the Reiseralm or at the Milchhäusl, you can whizz through winter landscapes like in a movie.

Between rugged peaks and glistening slopes, Berchtesgaden shows what winter really means: exercise, thrills and pure nature. Whether you are conquering the slopes, trudging through deep snow or seeking the tranquillity of a ski tour - adventure awaits you here at every altitude. 

Götschen: Training slope for top-class sport 

The Götschen above Bischofswiesen is a World Cup venue. Professionals train here, races start here - and here you can show what you're made of. Between perfectly groomed pistes, freeride slopes and a snowboard spot for tricks and jumps, you'll find everything that makes winter come alive.  

When others have long since returned to the valley, your next adventure begins at Götschen: night skiing under floodlights. Every Friday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the slope becomes a stage of light and snow - for fast turns, glistening tracks and pure winter atmosphere. Afterwards, it's worth stopping off at the Götschenalm.

Rossfeld: Natural snow and pure panorama 

Guaranteed snow, sun-drenched and with views to marvel at: Rossfeld is a real highlight for active skiers. Four lifts lead over natural snow slopes that leave nothing to be desired, even for sporty skiers. Particularly attractive: the six-kilometre-long valley run to Oberau or over to Zinken in Salzburger Land.

It continues here in the evening - with floodlit skiing against an impressive backdrop. Even under the stars, the view extends as far as the Watzmann, Göll and Dachstein, while you make your tracks on brightly lit pistes.

In Berchtesgaden you will find countless routes for ski tours. One of the best known is theGreat ReibnThe circumnavigation of Lake Königssee on skis with an overnight stay in the winter room of the Kärlingerhaus at Funtensee. But easy ski tours, which are particularly suitable for beginners and the curious, are also waiting for you here! A ski tour with a piste descent, for example on Hochschwarzeck, Götschen or Rossfeld, also allows skiers without deep snow experience to enjoy the ski tour experience.

Tobogganing is only for kids? Not here! The Jennerhex toboggan run runs for 1.4 kilometers from the Jennerbahn mountain station down to the Mitterkaseralm. Ideal for anyone who loves speed - and would rather feel the winter than look at it. The chairlift takes you back up again in comfort for the next round of adrenaline.

It's extra long here: over 100 kilometers of groomed trails lead through valleys and across high plateaus with views of the Berchtesgaden Alps. Steinplatte Winklmoosalm - far-reaching views included 

One of the most exciting ski areas in the region awaits you in the border triangle of Tyrol, Salzburg and Bavaria: the Steinplatte Winklmoosalm. 42 sunny kilometers of slopes, wide runs for all abilities and a panorama that is guaranteed to get you off track - in the best sense of the word. The mix of alpine challenges and cozy stops make every day of skiing here an experience.  

From the 2025/26 season, the new Bäreckbahn will take you on an even more comfortable adventure - with heated seats, a weather protection hood and particularly easy access. Whether you're looking for speed or simply want to enjoy the sun: your winter day starts here with a smile. 

Tip: Snowpark Steinplatte - Flow & Airtime  

For those who prefer jumping to carving, the Steinplatte snow park is the perfect terrain. In a sunny location directly on slope 4, the park stretches the entire length of the Kapellenbahn - around 1.5 kilometers full of action, style and snow feeling. Four lines, divided into three sections, offer everything the freestyle heart desires - from fun to pro. 

In the main section , you can choose between four lines: Whether boxes, tubes, rails, hips, kickers or corners, here you will find everything you need for new tricks and your personal flow. From the chill area, you have a view of the entire park. Perfect for taking a deep breath, soaking up the sun and watching other riders do their moves. 

In the midsection , there is an easy line for warming up and a combined medium/pro line, which is really fun with smooth transitions and varied obstacles. And if you still have some power left, continue to the end section for the last kick before heading back up. 

With a total of 15 to 18 elements (depending on the setup) and the best views of the surrounding peaks, Snowpark Steinplatte is more than just a freestyle spot - it's a place where adrenaline, sun and a good atmosphere come together.

Chiemgau also offers you countless opportunities to fill your winter with adventure:

Classic was yesterday: FreeSkating, the Nordic answer to ice skating, awaits you in the Max Aicher Arena Inzell. Instead of skis, you click into blades with skating shoes that give you full freedom of movement and a surprising amount of flow.

The feeling? Somewhere between meditation and adrenaline. And the best thing is: the weather doesn't matter in the hall. So: put them on, click them in and glide off.

Snow under your soles, silence in your head, vastness in your eyes: Winter hiking in Chiemgau is not (only) about speed, but about feeling. On 87 tours with over 280 kilometers of trails, you walk or march through snow-covered forests, over sunny hills and to viewpoints - and have them almost to yourself.

Particularly worthwhile: the Kaiserblick premium winter hiking trail with its view of the mountains of the same name.

In Chiemgau, it's all systems go - on more than 400 kilometers of classic trails and 300 kilometers of skating trails. Between gentle valleys and sunny plateaus, you will find trails for every level: from relaxed gliding to athletic challenges.

Particularly scenic: the 3-lake trail between Ruhpolding and Reit im Winkl, which loosely runs along Lödensee, Mittersee and Weitsee.
