KLOO-ASCHER TRAIL IN BAYERISCHZELL

Bayrischzell, the well-known winter sports resort on the south side of the Wendelstein, is not only a first-class address for skiers. People from the region in particular know that the cross-country skiing here is excellent. The trails run at an altitude of 800 to 900 meters, where snow is guaranteed, and there is considerably less going on here than at nearby Schliersee and Tegernsee, especially during the week.

There are cross-country ski trails around the village and into the southern Ursprungtal valley. But the insider tip for connoisseurs is the tour into the idyllic Kloo-Ascher valley. A trail for nature lovers and connoisseurs, which starts around three kilometers south of Bayrischzell directly at the Zipflwirt inn. From the Zipflwirt, the trail turns right across an open meadow, then crosses beautiful forest passages and predominantly flat alpine meadows, taking you on an excursion into the quiet valley, which in summer has a connection towards Spitzingsee and Valepp-Almen. It doesn't go that far in winter, but far enough to enjoy the enchanting silence. A varied trail with enchanting views of the snow-covered winter forest around every bend. Behind the Kloo-Ascher-Alm, where the summer trail leads uphill towards Elend Sattel, the trail makes a turn and heads back out of the valley. It doesn't really matter that there are no refreshment stops along the way, which wouldn't suit this idyllic route at all. The Zipflwirt, a traditional inn that has recently been carefully renovated, awaits you at the finish.

What also makes cross-country skiing here in Bayrischzell so attractive is the possibility of linking numerous trails together. Cross-country skiers can start in Bayrischzell, run through the Ursprungstal valley into the Kloo-Ascher valley and/or in the other direction from Bayrischzell to Geitau. Ski hire is available at the Sport-Alm near Bayrischzell, right next to the cross-country ski trails.
